Hudson Valley Dance Shorts, an evening of short dance films by local artists, curated by RAWdance, will take place on Sunday, February 28, 2027 at 4pm, at the Rosendale Theatre in Rosendale, NY. The event is part of the Dance on Film Series presented by Rosendale Theatre.
We are accepting submissions for short dance films by artists residing in the Hudson Valley. Selected films will be screened as part of the evening and will receive a $75 honorarium.

Film Category
We are accepting 1–10 minute short dance films by dance makers and/or dance film makers.
Films should be created for the screen. Documentary films and recordings of live performances will not be accepted.
Exhibition Format
Selected films will be requested in their native frame rate in .mov or .mp4 format (.mov preferred). Additional delivery specifications will be provided to selected artists. Films will be screened at either 17:9 (2048×1080) or 16:9 ratio (1920×1080) at 2K resolution.
General Submission Requirements
- Films must be 1–10 minutes in length.
- At least one of the lead artists must live full- or part-time in the Hudson Valley.
- All music, footage, images, and other copyrighted material used in the film must be fully licensed or otherwise cleared for public screening.
- Artists may submit a maximum of three films for consideration.
- Films must be complete at the time of submission; works-in-progress will not be accepted.
- Submission links must remain accessible through the notification date.
- Artists may not publicly promote or announce additional Hudson Valley screenings of selected films within 2 months of the Hudson Valley Dance Shorts presentation on February 28, 2027.
- Selected films must be available for screening at the Rosendale Theatre on February 28, 2027.
- Submission grants RAWdance permission to screen the selected film as part of Hudson Valley Dance Shorts and to use the film’s title, credits, and submitted promotional materials for event-related publicity.
