Brown University Festival of Dance

This past February, Co-Artistic Directors Wendy Rein and Ryan T. Smith returned to Brown University to develop a work for student company Dance Extension, of which they’re both alums. Extension was established in 1980 by founding Director of Dance, Julie Adams Strandberg, who will retire in June after 52 years. As a launching point, the new work, Bring You Home, expands upon material and themes from RAWdance’s 2017 creation, Requiem, which was originally crafted for Yerba Buena Gardens ChoreoFest. Created for eight dancers, and set to the original Requiem score by Joel St. Julien, Bring You Home explores loss, grief, and ultimately community, support, and joy.
