RAWdance’s CONCEPT series salon, an institution of the San Francisco dance scene, finds a home in the Hudson Valley at the Senate Garage in Uptown Kingston.
The series serves a fresh dose of contemporary dance with a welcoming, living room vibe, complete with popcorn. Five Hudson Valley choreographers join RAWdance to share works-in-progress and revamped repertory, tailored for intimate viewing:
The Chase Brock Experience
Lina Azalea
Leighann Kowalsky
Timna Jahoda Kligler
Glass Eye Shadow Pictures and Steep Horizon Dance
and RAWdance
For THE CONCEPT SERIES, choreographers are encouraged to share work at any point of creation, offering new perspectives into the artistic process. The event will take place at Uptown Kingston’s beautiful, industrial-chic Senate Garage. RAWdance’s Co-Artistic Directors Wendy Rein and Ryan T. Smith act as hosts between performances, serving trays of popcorn, sweet snacks, and a healthy dose of banter to complete the experience.
GET TO KNOW A BIT MORE ABOUT THE ARTISTS AND THE WORKS THEY WILL BE SHARING through mini ARTIST INTRODUCTION VIDEOS.

“…intimate evenings of fleshed-out and nascent works by cutting-edge dancers and performers.” — San Francisco Chronicle’s 96Hours
“Contemporary dance as a chummy, pretension-free meet-up? That’s the winning concept behind RAWdance’s CONCEPT series, …where new dances are served up alongside generous helpings of popcorn, cookies and coffee. Every iteration brings a unique mix of ideas and dance styles, but it’s always a low-key, highly entertaining event with effervescent emceeing by RAWdance founders Ryan Smith and Wendy Rein.” — San Francisco Chronicle
The Senate Garage is ADA accessible.
