Yerba Buena Gardens Festival presents RAWdance: Drawing on a Decade

RAWdance returns to Yerba Buena Gardens, turning the downtown oasis into a stage for a site-specific retrospective. Honoring a decade of partnership with the Yerba Buena Gardens Festival, two free performances highlight a collection of audience favorites for RAWdance’s milestone 20th Anniversary year.

The program includes:
Circuit* (2019) – an athletic romp, in which contemporary dance meets a stair climbing bootcamp. (Location: the stairs adjacent to the Leroy King Carousel)
Requiem (2017), created as an offering to those lost at Pulse Orlando, and to the many more whose safe spaces continue to be corrupted by violence. The work is being completely re-envisioned for our current moment, bringing dancers together from both coasts. (Location: East Garden)
Slipstream (2018), a luscious, musically-driven ensemble work set to two pieces by renowned composer Kui Dong. Slipstream combines material originally created for eight of the Garden’s smaller architectural nooks, but the full piece has never been performed in its entirety on the West Coast. (Location: Terrace)

Audience members will be led to different locations throughout the Gardens to catch the performances, which transform the popular SOMA green space. Yerba Buena Gardens Festival performances are always free, open to the public, and suitable for all ages.
