Escape dives into the culturally-rooted, vacation enclaves of the past, founded in response to the exclusion of immigrants, Black people, Jews, and queer folx from established resorts. Inspired by images and stories of the Borscht Belt and Provincetown, Escape sets the scene for personal reflection against a backdrop exploding with vintage beachwear and a cheeky dance romp into resort culture. This theatrical work features five performers.
