Shadow (part 1), choreographed by Ryan T. Smith and Wendy Rein, brings a quartet of dancers from San Francisco and New York for the first chapter premiere of this deep dive into our digital debris and data-defined identities. With a soundscore by SURABHI SARAF, set design by Chad Owens, lighting by Del Medoff, and cinematography by Ben Estabrook, Shadow (part 1) digs into the reverberations of surveillance, digital tracking, and feedback loops of/on the body to create a tenebrous world on screen. Part 2 of Shadow will premiere next year as a gallery installation combining film, augmented reality, and live performance.
