Two by 24: Love on Loop
We all need love in our lives. And we should all have the right to be with the one we love. Using City Hall as its backdrop, Two by 24: Love on Loop is an 8-hour outdoor contemporary dance installation reminding us that beneath all the legal jargon and political posturing, there is always a story of two people. Two people who flirt, fight, make-up, support, care, and love each other. Originally performed by a cast of 24 dancers — 12 duets, each performed twice —Two by 24 was a reaction to the legal battle for marriage rights.

“Two by 24: Love on Loop clearly outlines the struggle for marriage equality and the bizarre intersection of human emotion and political agenda. But much more simply, Wendy Rein and Ryan T. Smith’s new piece is a beautiful comment on the gift of love. Two adults in love with each other should be celebrated, cherished, supported and have equal rights. Period.”
